    What does HealFast Therapy Do?

    • A.HealFast Therapy helps to re-establish coordinated cell activity in injured tissue, reducing edema and the associated pain, thereby contributing to the healing process.
      Normal tissue maintenance and repair requires the coordinated activity of multiple cell types. Following mechanical or other tissue injury, inflammatory processes initiate a tissue change with increased vessel leakiness leads to tissue edema (swelling).  Under infectious conditions, tissue edema serves to disconnect the cells within the tissue thereby preventing the spread of infection. In the case of non-infected trauma or aseptic surgical procedures, inflammatory responses cause discomfort and pain without contributing to the healing process.

    How Does HealFast Therapy Work?

    • A.HealFast Therapy is a type of electro-therapy.  Tissues are composed of cell networks in which cell-cell communication relies extensively on cell-cell contact. In edemenous tissues, cell-cell communication is greatly reduced resulting in poor coordination and delayed healing.  In the absence of normal cell contact, induced electric fields can be used as a coordinating signal to synchronize the activity of the cells within a tissue, thereby returning tissues to normal function in a shorter period of time.

    What electric field intensity levels are used in electro-therapies?

    • A.Most electro-therapies utilize induced electric fields in the extremely low frequency (ELF) range (3Hz-3000Hz). The earliest demonstrations of induction of cell coordination by induced ELF electric fields (Wachtel, 1979) showed that electric fields at intensities in the range of 100-1000 mV/cm were sufficient to initiate synchronous cell activity within seconds of application.  Subsequent studies (McLeod et al, 1987) showed that cell ensemble activity could be influenced by induced electric fields as low as 30 mV/cm if exposures extended for four hours or more. More recent studies (McLeod, et al., 2000) indicate that cell ensemble activity can be significantly influenced by induced electric fields as low as 1 mV/cm when using continuous exposures over several days

    What are the characteristics of the tissue level electric field created by HealFast Therapy?

    • A.HealFast therapy uses a modulated radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic field to induce an ELF electric field into the body tissue.  A 27 MHz field permits non-invasive transmission of the ELF treatment into the tissue.  The 1 KHz modulation (pulsation) constitutes the physiologically active component of the signal.  The magnitude of the induced 1 KHz electric field in the tissue during HealFast Therapy treatment is on the order of 100 mV/cm.

    What is the effective treatment area of HealFast Therapy?

    • A.The 27 MHz carrier frequency utilized in HealFast Therapy ensures a penetration depth greater than 1 cm.  The area of effective treatment is approximately twice the active area of the patch or the antenna in the case of the looped flex system..

    What are the contraindications for use of HealFast Therapy?

    • A.There are no known contraindications for electro-therapies at the frequency and intensity utilized by the HealFast.  HealFast operation will not influence other external or implanted electrical medical devices.  HealFast Therapy is safe to use in the vicinity of water but should not be submerged.

    What is PEMF (Pulsed ElectroMagnetic Field) Therapy?

    • A.Pulsed electro magnetic therapy is an energy that involves directing a series of magnetic pulses through injured tissue.  Each magnetic pulse induces a tiny electrical signal that stimulates cellular repair.

    • A.The benefits of HealFast Therapy are:

      • Rapid improved appearance and increased tensile strength;
      • An acceleration in the migration of new skin cells;
      • Improved quality of newly formed skin;
      • Reduced risk of infection; and,

    What Disease States Can Be Treated with PEMF?

    • A.Pulsed Electromagnetic Therapy has been used effectively around the world for decades on the following conditions:  muscle pulls and strains, surgical recovery, bone problems, bone fracture, cuts and bruises and osteoarthritis.

      Why is HealFast Therapy Better than Traditional PEMF?

      • A.HealFast Therapy is a dramatic improvement in cost-effectiveness.  It is wearable by the patient right on the injury – compliance is improved as well as the duration of treatment.

        Are there any side effects of HealFast Therapy?

        • A.There are no known side effects of HealFast Therapy.  After decades of experience with pulsed electromagnetic field effect therapy, there has been no documentation of any side effects.

        How Do I know if HealFast Therapy is working?

        • A.There is a small red or green light visible on the unit.  It is your sign that the therapy is working.  But the real sign will be the visible improvement in the speed of healing for your animal.

        Does the HealFast device have sufficient power in the signal to create the same physiologic response from treatment as to the traditional high-power devices?

        • A.Yes.  Use of theHealFast device, as with the traditional devices, results in field exposure levels at the target tissue that are orders of magnitude above the thresholds which have been established for non-thermal electromagnetically induced biological effects on connective tissue cells, as well as connective tissues.  Given the data on the efficacy of such electromagnetic fields to affect connective tissue systems, Dr. McLeod confidently states that the HealFast Devices will produce a therapeutic effect when used in the treatment of connective tissue injury in humans.
